Material characterization is becoming increasingly important in view of ever increasing demands on the performance related properties of materials. In this view a two-day national conference is being organised on the topic “Experimental Tools for Material Science Research: State of Art" on 3-4 December 2010. We the organizing committee invite you to participate in this Conference. Material characterization depends upon the orientation and approach of the investigator. A scientist from basic sciences will think at the atomic level whereas a technologist will think about the practical feasibility and device performance. Both are important for the society. A material can be fully explored if every possible aspect of material characterization has been visualized and well understood. A proper linking of material properties with microstructure and chemical composition paves the path for systematic development of exotic materials and helps us understand their behaviour in practical applications and processing technologies.
This conference is an effort to let the young scientists understand the different techniques available and give them an opportunity to discuss their problems with eminent scientists working with technique.
